Amy has been practicing in the field for over 15 years. Her experience includes working with families with small to adult children, remarriage and blended families, grief and loss, parent and life coaching, marital discord and divorce, child and teen issues, along with aging and illness challenges.
Working to help individuals and families empower themselves, Amy sees her role as one in which she helps each individual build honest communication with themself and others in order to find their own strengths. She assists her clients with working through the barriers that life will inevitably throw at them and then using those challenges to build new tools as they move forward, healthier and better prepared for their future. She enjoys working with children and adolescents, couples, and individuals. Amy brings a patient and calming spirit to therapy, creating a safe environment for her clients to address challenges.
Amy obtained her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Appalachian State University in 2001. She specializes in a variety of therapy techniques including Cognitive-Behavioral therapy and Systemic Family Therapy. Amy takes particular interest in holistic approaches to mental and physical wellness in order to balance the Mind and Body in a way that creates a more healthy individual.

“I believe in the potential of all people. No matter how young or mature in years, everyone is capable of something great. And everyone's greatness is so beautifully unique. Our relationships can help deepen this potential. I feel that in therapy, my role is to create an environment of acceptance and support while helping a person learn about their strengths and challenges through honest communication with themselves and others. In that space, anything is possible. I am always honored when I get to bear witness to this in the lives of others.” ~ Amy K. Mann

"I consider it my personal mission to reduce the divorce rate in the United States... one couple at a time. But preventing divorce will only be successful if in place of unfulfilling or chronically dysfunctional marriages, couples develop truly thriving marriages and deeply fulfilling relationships. Even in the most hopeless-seeming cases, couples can heal the damage from the past and move forward in a healthier way. Not all marriages can be saved, but when couples do the work to heal the past, their future can be happier, no matter what the outcome for the relationship."
